A simple activity for a sunny day!

Rosie painting her playhouse yesterday

I’ve been meaning to post about this fab easy and simple activity for a while!

Rosie loves it when I give her a paint brush, some water (magic paint) and tell her to go and paint outside! Yesterday she spent ages painting her play house, the paving, the barbecue, her slide etc.

Have you any simple outdoor play activity ideas you’d like to share?

Mini veggie muffins

imageThese little muffins were a hit with baby Ruby and her baby friend Felix.

How I made them:

Preheat oven to 160 (fan oven)

2 cups of plain brown flour, half tsp baking powder, 1 cup oat milk, quarter cup of olive oil, half cup of cheese, 2 cups of grated carrot & courgette, 2 eggs.

Whizz it all in a food processor

Lightly spray cooking oil on to 24 mini muffin tray.

Fill with mixture.

Bake until slightly golden (took mine approx 20 minutes)

Leave to cool before you devour the whole lot.

Next time I make these I will try adding a bit of paprika and may swap the olive oil for coconut oil too … You could try other veg too!

Let me know if you come up with any delicious combos.

Happy munching x

Ruby’s progress with Baby Led Weaning

Ruby is having a great time discovering food and I’m really enjoying the baby led weaning process too.

I get a little nervous at times when Ruby gets a big chunk of something in her mouth … But so far she’s handling things well! Her gag reflex seems to be doing it’s job and promptly ejecting things when it needs to.

Ruby’s pulling some amazing and hilarious expressions whilst trying out different foods andย I’ve been documenting herย progress with my iPhone using Instagram (see the link to my Instagram account on the right hand side of here)

Here’s one of my favourite videos captured so far …

Day 4 of BLW – Ruby eats avocado

imageLook at the concentration face! Bless her.

I read a tip about leaving the skin on the avocado to make it less slippery to hold.

Ruby wasn’t really in the mood for eating today but she had a taste of the avocado and also some cucumber before swiping it all on the floor.
